How to Promote Your Business by Promoting Our Website
Matt Scriven - OASIS Website Manager

Now that our new OASIS website is finished being redesigned we need to find a way to promote it online. We need to bring more users onto our website so that they can find our members. In order to do this, we need to appear in Google search results under keywords that consumers in our industry may use.
As outlined in our recent conference, our goal is to become more visible online for search terms such as OASIS, Ontario hauler, pumper, sewage, septage, hauler, septic tank installation, portable toilets. We want to do this so consumers will come to our website and use our member locator to find the service or product they are looking for.
How can you help us? If you have your own website you can improve our online visibility by placing links from your website pointing to ours. Increasing the number of links pointing to our website will promote us in web searches.
Place links to http://oasisontario.on.ca which match the keywords you wish to promote for your business. For example, if you are a sewage hauler try putting “Ontario Sewage Hauler - OASIS” in your link. This way, OASIS can act as a central place for consumers to go to find you.
Do you operate in more than one location? If so please contact me indicating the central address of operation as well as the approximate area covered. I will update the “Locate a Professional” database with these details.
If you have any questions about placing links on your website please do not hesitate to contact me for help. My email is matt@solidit.ca.
If you do not have a website and have any questions about how to get one, please send me an email or visit my website, http://solidit.ca.
Common Internet Terminology
Search Engine - Used to find and organize information on the internet. Most engines, most notably Google, use a ranking system based on the number of inbound links to determine its “importance.”
Database - Usually a large collection of information. The OASIS database contains all members with their contact information and is used by the “Locate a Professional” page on our website.
Link - Clickable text on a web page. Can contain both a web address and visible text the user of the website can see.
