CAA Membership
The Ontario Government's new 13% HST takes effect July 1, 2010, and will be applied to all new and renewing CAA memberships replacing the current 5% GST. Our updated application form is attached.
As our memberships cover 12 months of service, the Ontario Government also stipulates that HST transition rules apply beginning May 1, 2010. This means that CAA is required to:
- Charge GST on that portion of the membership that takes effect before July 1, 2010
- Charge HST on that portion of the membership that takes effect after July 1, 2010
Anyone joining CAA during the period of May 1 to June 20, 2010 will be charged the appropriate rate adjusted based on the pro-rate guideline. This rate will differ, and may be less than what is indicated on the new Join Form that has been provided to you. Hard copies of the forms have also been mailed unless otherwise requested.
